MDTP Readiness Tests
In 2010, the state of California adopted the Common Core as its content standards in mathematics. As a result of the California Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CACCSSM), MDTP has been active in developing new readiness tests aligned to common core curriculum expectations. In fall 2015, MDTP released three newlydeveloped readiness tests: Grade 7 Readiness, Grade 8 Readiness, and High School Readiness, which are aligned to the CACCSSM. In fall 2017, MDTP released two newlydeveloped CACCSSMaligned readiness tests for curriculum from the integrated framework: Integrated Second Year Readiness and Integrated Third Year Readiness. In fall 2017, MDTP continued to field test two CACCSSMaligned readiness tests for curriculum from the traditional framework: Geometry Readiness and Second Year Algebra Readiness. These two traditional tests are in the second year of fieldtesting.
Each readiness test is designed to measure mastery levels in predetermined topic areas in which competency is necessary for success in the course. MDTP tests can be administered at various times throughout mathematics courses. Readiness tests may be given near the beginning of a course, partway through a course, and at the end of a course.
MDTP Middle School Readiness Tests
Middle School Field Test (MS35D17)
The MS35D17 is an item field test.

This test includes many items that are new and have not previously been tested for reliability or validity. Since MDTP cannot verify that these items are predictive of students' overall or topical readiness, MDTP does not recommend that the resulting data be used as an indicator of student readiness for an entrylevel middle school mathematics course. Fieldtesting should occur in CACCSSM Grade 6 classrooms.

Note: The Prealgebra Readiness (PR40A04) has been replaced by the Grade 7 Mathematics Readiness (7R40A15) and the Grade 8 Mathematics Readiness (8R40A15), which are aligned to the CACCSSM. Teachers may continue to use the PR with the understanding that it is not aligned to common core curricular expectations for middle school mathematics courses.
