California Mathematics Diagnostic Testing Project Web-based Calculus Readiness Test The only purpose of this test is to indicate the extent of your understanding and facility with some important concepts and skills. At the end of the test you will submit your answers for scoring. You will then have an opportunity to review your performance on each question. You will also see your total score and your score on the topics covered by the test. These results may help you focus additional study to be better prepared for a calculus course. The topics and items on this test reflect those on the MDTP Calculus Readiness Tests (CR) and Precalculus Diagnostic Tests (PC) administered by many California schools. This web-based test can provide an indication of how well prepared you are for any of those tests. The topic areas included in this test are.
- Exponents and Radicals
- Functions
- Geometric Applications
- Linear Equations and Inequalities, Absolute Values, and their Graphs
- Logarithmic and Exponential Functions
- Polynomials and Polynomial Functions
- Rational Expressions and their Graphs
- Trigonometry
You should not take this test until you have studied these topics. Some review before taking the test may be helpful. To get an indication of your level of preparation for an MDTP CR test, you should take this test under test-like conditions, by yourself with no reference materials and in a limited time. You should have paper and pencil available for working problems or noting problems that you may want to come back to later. |
